The 2nd Growth Brane Cantenac estate in Margaux has been owned by the Lurton family for four generations. When Henri Lurton took over the estate from his father in 1992, he put into practice all that he had learned throughout his extensive training and experience acquired in vineyards all over the world. The wine of Brane is prepared in its vineyards. Planted to 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the vineyard has gravel, clay and sandy soils. Baron de Brane is the estate’s 2nd wine, made from younger vines, yet prepared in the same quality-driven fashion as the first label. Pair this classic Margaux with lamb, steaks and chicken, followed by Comte Gruyere, Dijon mustard and dark olives.
