This comes from Saint Michel de Fronsac and is made from predominantly Merlot, as is typical of the area.

It’s just what you’d expect from a Bordeaux at this price-point. It’s ripe, flush with sweet red fruits, a lick of oak, cigar-box and earth and just a whisper of a soft floral top-note. It’s one of those pleasing mid-week wines that will warm the cockles if you’re in the mood.

It’s not a profound wine, but it is very well put together and clean as a whistle.
