Despite the warmth of the season, which broke records with temperatures not seen for a couple of decades, this wine from mountain vineyards in Gualtallary some 1,450 meters above sea level, doesn’t seem to have suffered that heat. It’s juicy, with an acidity that illuminates the notes of ripe red fruits and flowers but also seems to highlight the herbal aromas, which have a strong presence here, and fine, sharp tannins complete the picture in this delicious malbec, a child of the Andes. This is a selection of soils where calcium carbonate predominates.
